What We Train For...
Callouts are where we put our training into practice and although it would be nice sometimes to not have some of the callouts we get, that is why we train. The galleries below are from just a small selection of the callouts we attend. More will be added in time but grabbing the camera on the way out is not the first thing on your mind.

Armadale
Situation: Car v. house. The car took out one of
the pillars supporting the carport roof and did significant damage to the
roof structure.
Action: The carport was supported by acrow props
after most of the tiles were removed.

Kwinana
Situation: Police organized a search for a
missing person through some bushland in Kwinana.
Action: The search was conducted with teams from
Cockburn, Rockingham, Serpentine/Jarrahdale and Kalamunda. We had to leave
early to attend a car v. house (see above).

Camillo (Westfield)
Situation: Car v. house. As well as significant
damage to the carport and kitchen, both cars are likely to be write-offs.
Action: The front of the carport roof was secured
and despite the apparent damage to the kitchen wall, there was little for
us to do by way of shoring up or anything else.

Metro area
Situation: A severe thunderstorm caused damage from trees
falling on houses and roof damage from hail and high winds. Flooding was also a
major issue.
Action: Roofs were tarped, collapsed ceilings were either
shored up or torn down, depending on the extent of the damage. Fallen trees were
made safe. This storm caused havoc through most of the metro area and all units
were out for a number of days. Support was also brought in from country areas
as well as interstate.

Midland
Situation: Land Search for a missing person.
Action: Search teams searched their allocated areas in
residential and industrial parts of Midland.
In this instance the missing person was not located.

Armadale
Situation: Another car v. house. Luckily in this case
the car only damaged the patio and the house itself sufffered no damage.
Action: The area was cleared and the patio roof was
supported by two acrow props.

Roleystone
Situation: Storm damage. Tree v. house &ndash a rather
large redgum caused major damage to the roof.
Action: The tree was successfully removed from the
roof and the roof was tarped.

Armadale
Situation: Storm damage. After completing some jobs
in the Armadale/Kelmscott area we had one team deployed to South Perth and
another to help Northshore with jobs in Wembley, Nollamara and City Beach.
Action: Whatever action was required to complete the
assigned tasks...

Armadale
Situation: Another car v. house, the impact of the
car moved the side wall of the house back about 3cm.
Action: Acrow props were put in place before the car
was removed then the site was made secure and weather proof.

Seville Grove
Situation: Yet another car v. house.
Action: Acrow props were put in place then the vehicle
was removed. A broken window was sealed and the front door was made secure
with sandbags to stop it swinging in the breeze.

Winthrop
Situation: Land search involving units from Armadale,
Cockburn, Gosnells, Rockingham and the Mounted Section.
Action: A search was conducted of areas of interest
as identified by the Police.

Seville Grove
Situation: Here we have another car v. house where
neither did very well.
Action: Rubble was removed, the vehicle was removed
and the damaged walls were made safe. Acrow props were used to support
the ceiling, and the opening, along with broken windows, were sealed against
the elements.

Clifton Hills
Situation: Here we have a case of car v. house where
neither did very well from the experience. The driver had parked his car on
the side of the road, went inside and when he returned he noticed that his
car had rolled back down the hill, across the road and into a house...
Action: Rubble was removed, the vehicle was removed
and the situation was made safe.

Melville
Situation: Storm damage with a large tree on a fence,
vehicle and another fence.
Action: The tree was trimmed back so that the vehicle
could be removed.

Rockingham
Situation: Storm damage. Widespread damage caused by a
mini-tornado.
Action: Actions ranged from replacing a few broken tiles
to tarping entire roofs.

Roleystone
Situation: Storm damage with a large tree on a house.
Action: The tree was trimmed back and removed from the
roof and a tarp put in place to cover the wholes punched through the roof.

day, an extensive foot search was undertaken.
